Kim and Stephen Frye's Personal Statement Kim is a Clinical Psychologist and Stephen is the Vice President of Underwriting for Zenith Insurance Company in Los Angeles. We have two children Nicole (7) and Jack (4-1/2). Jack was diagnosed with MPS II in 2004. We have been active members in the society since 2005. We enjoy playing baseball in the backyard with our children, swimming, baking and spending time with friends and family. We decided to run for the board in the year following our son's diagnosis. For us being involved in this capacity was the best way we could use the anxious energy we had regarding the changes we were facing in our family and our life. Since becoming board members we have involved ourselves in the different committees and functions that are of interest to us such as the family support and legislative committees and Kim is currently serving the Society in a newer role as secretary. Kim has been speaking at patient meetings and pharmaceutical company sponsored meetings to the medical community on variety of issues relevant to families touched by MPS. As board members we want to not only provide support to others living with MPS but to also develop and implement new programs and resources to help people with MPS improve the quality of their lives by reducing and eradicating the barriers faced daily in the MPS struggle.
